The Control Unit carries a crew of 4 and is based at Wymondham Fire Station. Its role is to provide a mobile incident command centre for large incidents. The vehicle comprises 2 main compartments.
To the front is the communication area providing communications on the fireground and from the fireground to Brigade Control.
To the rear of the appliance is a conference and planning area for the incident commanders use.
The vehicle is fitted with a 13 metre telescopic mast for radio communications.
A 12kv diesel powered generator accompanies the appliance to provide adequate power for the communication and lighting equipment.
