The Backdrafts

In January 2013 a group of enthusiastic Firefighters, from around Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, got together to start a band. This wasn’t just any old band, this band had purpose. As well as playing and gigging for fun they wanted to use rock music to raise awareness about fire safety and raise money for Charity.

Over the last year they have achieved some amazing things, as well as gigging locally and supporting Fire Service and National Resilience Forum events they have;

  • Recorded a single and secured a publishing deal.
  • Performed in London at both the Tunnel to Towers race/event and for the Lord Mayor of London at the Guildhall.
  • Performed in front of thousands in the Lord Mayor’s Procession in Norwich
  • Been involved in the recovery operation at Walcott , both in a practical Fire Service way and then at the end of the week – performing a gig in the local pub that raised funds for the people in Walcott.
  • Got through the first two rounds of Britain’s Got Talent in London – we eagerly await news (In February) as to whether they have made it through to the live televised stage!
  • Just launched their very own website, which they have designed and created themselves.
